Black Swan is overrated.
You know, I was really excited to see Black Swan. I mean, after seeing Pi and Requiem for a Dream and hearing several friends raving about how gooood it was, you'd imagine Black Swan would be equally amazing, right? Don't get me wrong, I was engaged throughout the film, so I guess it isn't really Aronofsky's fault...more so the screenwriters' fault. The plot is needlessly confusing. I won't give anything away, but seriously -- all you walk away with is this cliché memo: you can never be perfect. Oh, okay. Cool. I didn't have to sit through 108 minutes of a "psychological thriller" to figure that out.

I like how his films all have one major theme in common: obsession.
